The Exceptional Educator: The Exceptional Educator is a workshop designed to support teachers who teach exceptional education students. The target audience for this workshop is grade 6-10 teachers who need additional support serving exceptional education students. The overall goal for this workshop is for teachers to learn how to create a learning culture that accommodates the needs of exceptional education students without compromising rigor. This workshop would be ideal for teachers who co-teach and or who teach in a self contained setting.
Lesson Plan Alignment: Lesson Plan Alignment is a workshop designed for a half day of support. Teachers will learn how to deliver and design a structured lesson plan aligned with curriculum standards from bell to bell. This learning experience will be tailored for small groups of educators that teach the same subject matter. New teachers and or career switchers would benefit greatly from this learning experience.
Gradebook Communication: Gradebook communication is a workshop designed to help teachers communicate more effectively via their gradebook. It is also designed to ensure that there is instructional accountability at the district, school, teacher, parent and student level. This workshop is designed especially for teachers who teach utilizing a standardized curriculum for core subject areas.
Teach to Remediate: Teach to Remediate is a professional development workshop designed to support teachers who struggle to maintain consistent standardized test scores above the level of proficiency. This workshop will provide teachers with data driven strategies that will help them reteach standards that students did not master without comprising pacing benchmarks.
Connecting Science and Literacy: Connecting Science and Literacy is a workshop designed to help reading and science teachers make connections between science and literacy. This workshop will help teachers use active reading opportunities to teach science and reading standards while reinforcing content specific vocabulary and engineering standards. The overall goal is for students to improve their ability to read scientific text while improving their ability to conduct scientific investigations. This workshop is designed for Science and English teachers that teach the same grade level.
Anticipate Engagement: Anticipate engagement is a workshop that places an emphasis on the importance of using anticipatory sets and competitive learning opportunities in the classroom. The target audience for this workshop is k-12 teachers. The overall goal for this workshop is for teachers to learn how to create anticipatory sets and competitive learning activities that are aligned, engaging, and rigorous. As a result, this opportunity would be best delivered to teachers who teach the same grade level or subject matter.
I Got 5 On It: I Got 5 On It is a workshop designed to promote collaborative learning and collaborative teaching in the science classroom. An emphasis will be placed on intentional grouping and classroom management. This is a hands-on workshop designed for teaching groups Pre k -1, 3-5 and 6-8.
Diversity in Independent Practice: Diversity in Independent Practice is a content and grade level specific professional learning opportunity. This opportunity is designed to help teachers provide independent practice activities that are aligned, rigorous, and diversified. In addition, teachers will learn how independent practice activities can be utilized to maximize the time spent learning.
